The Kingfell Factor

Many companies claim to be “different” but there is no point in being different if it does not benefit their Clients. Many years ago, I was a Client of consultancy and systems contracting services when I was with London Underground. In some cases I was appalled at the level and depth of knowledge from so called “fire consultants” ; those would take a fee for designing a fire detection system but would not take responsibility – passing it to the installation company. There were contracting companies who were more adept in adding costly variations to projects rather than in ensuring a properly installed and effective system.

 I thought that I could do things “differently” and better. I wanted to offer a complete fire service from concept and strategy through to a finished and commissioned set of fire systems that are really fit for purpose. I also wanted to challenge the norm and increase the expectation of what clients should expect. After all, we are in the area of life safety and property and business protection. Today, Kingfell is designed to be “different” in the following ways:

 ·      Consultants, specialists, engineers and site technicians all within one company. The cross fertilization of knowledge, ideas and expertise really can help provide solutions that will benefit our Clients.

 ·      We challenge the norm and aim to be proactive in the fire industry. We wrote British Standard Specification PAS 911 for fire strategies and developed the “InterAct” system for fire risk management and other risk management functions.
